After last year's excellent Bay of Pigs EP, Destroyer is coming back with a new limited edition, two-song 12" EP out November 2 via Merge. Behold the soggy cover above. The A-side, "Archer on the Beach", is a collaboration between Destroyer mastermind Dan Bejar and ambient guru Tim Hecker; the flip side, "Grief Point", has Bejar working with Loscil, aka Destroyer drummer Scott Morgan.

Talking about the release in a press release, Bejar stated: "I'm not responsible for any of the music contained on this EP aside from the vocals, the general chord progression of 'Archer on the Beach', and maybe a couple of the sound effects." Only 1,000 copies of the EP will be made.

Bejar appeared on a track called "The Making of Grief Point" on the latest Loscil album, Endless Falls. Though the two "Grief Point" tracks share some music, they are different songs.

This will either be release of the year material or mostly forgettable, but I'm excited.

Sounds basically the same as the original version, with a bunch of sound effects mixed in.

I'm loving this EP. It's such a great headphone experience, and a nice sort of companion EP to Bay of Pigs.
