i was looking and couldn't find a general andrew bird thread, so here we go.

i love armchair: other than the beautiful music and great lyrics, one thing that struck me was the range in his voice.

so i'm right now grabbing eggs and weather systems.

His whistling is unbelievable. The range, power and virtuosity of it is extraordinary. Are there other artists who whistle as proficiently as he does?

Eggs is really really good, but "How Indiscreet" is probably his best tune. Bout time you got on the boat cb

you didn't write you didn't call
it didn't cross your mind at all
and through the waves
the waves of a.m. squall
you couldn't feel a thing at all

seeing him live did the trick for me. Now he's on the mix cd in my car so I hear him every day.

The best was when he joined Jeff Tweedy in whistling "Red Eyed and Blue" during the Chicago Wilco shows last month.

i don't know why, but i love the naming of things.

also, i adore this live version of "sovay" from the sovay single, which apparently was done with MMJ.
