Very interesting. How's that flanger sound?

i'll let you know when it gets here. just ordered the Joyo pedals yesterday out of china so who knows how long that could take. the mooer i ordered last week and it's shipping out of texas so it should be a little quicker.

however they seem to be getting pretty decent reviews. for the price i'm not expecting to be blown away but if it's even halfway decent it'll be money well spent.

That's what I'm thinking. The only flanger I have is built into a mutli-fx unit and it sounds like a muddled mess.

got the Shimverb last week and it's pretty cool. a serviceable reverb in a tiny enclosure. the shimmer setting is fun, though probably not something you'd use often. it seems to be built well. my only real complaint is that it might actually be too small  . you don't stomp it so much as gingerly press it. also the two knobs on the top don't have any markings so you have no idea where they are set.

i got the JOYO pedals last night. both seem to be solid and well built. the Flanger is quite nice actually. it's got a cool vintage sound to it which is a nice contrast to the Boss Flanger i've been using for years. lots of different sounds to play with from slight chorus to full on jet whoosh. the Tremolo is ok. playing clean it's a pretty run of the mill trem with controls for wet/dry mix and rate. with my setup it does less than stellar in high gain settings which i guess most do. it mostly just gets buried. my biggest complaint though is that it seems to be a major tone-suck. there is also a slight volume drop when engaged. i also ordered a 3rd pedal for my buddy, a compressor and this one is either defective or a complete POS. it has almost no compression effect whatsoever and in fact, one of the knobs does absolutely nothing.

overall though i'm pretty happy. i got 2 cool pedals and 1 decent one for about the cost of one brand new Boss pedal at the guitar shop.

Picked up this el-cheapo Xaviere XV-JT90 off Craigslist today. Its essentially a Telemaster, in a cool racing Capri Orange finish. The neck needs a bit of work, but even if that entails finding a completely new one, I'm happy to have found this. I was trying to find a Fender Toronado just like this, but the last one I saw posted for sale was at a Guitar Center across the country for $650. I got this for a fraction of that.

Bought a bunch of new pedals for the first time in years, can't wait for them to arrive so I can make some noise:

MXR 76 Vintage Dynacomp
Dunlop DVP1 Volume Pedal
Earthquaker Devices Dirt Transmitter Fuzz
Mr Black SuperMoon

I think mine might be broken.

It sounds so great in every pedal demo video, but this one just...doesn't.

Sold the Supermoon (and a bunch of other stuff) on eBay and bought a Boomerang III Phrase Sampler.

I've dreamed about owning one since quizzing Mick Turner from the Dirty Three about his after a show years ago.

Isn't it neat to know that the sound that you guys will be making later is at this very moment lying dormant in pieces scattered across the globe?

Getting great reviews and im so obsessed with that style body from Tele. Has a unique flavor to the look as well....

No joke: Went to my local "music shop" and asked if he'd be able to do it.... he laughed at me and said "why in the world would you want to do that"

I wont be going there anymore.
