Band reveal nine tracks and titles for their next album
Coldplay have revealed details about their forthcoming fourth studio album, explaining that the album will contain nine tracks.
Writing on their blog on their official website, the band explain that songs being considered for final inclusion are 'Lost!', 'Cemeteries Of London', 'Violet Hill', 'Poppy Fields', '42', 'Yes!', 'Leftrightleftrightleft' and 'Rainy Day'.
The group also explained that the follow-up to 2005's 'X&Y', which they have been recording in Barcelona, will last no longer than 42 minutes, and that the group members have been arguing over which tracks should be included.
"Expect a short, concise record with no fat and at least two top-division songs released independently," they wrote.
The band have not said when the album will be released yet.

I wonder which song is the 'best song ever' or something that Chris Martin promised.
I think that'll come after he tells the world that it's Coldplay's best album yet. You know, like he did with the last 2, but in reality neither were even close to being as good as their first.

Rush of Blood is the only Coldplay album I enjoy from front to back. The first one has about 4 great tracks and a bunch of filler, and the last one is just embarrassing.

I don't care all that much for Rush of Blood. Some songs are really good, but some just fall flat. What songs from Parachutes do you consider to be filler?

Well, for starters Shiver has a totally cornball verse and silly riff. It sounds like U2 covering one of Phil Collins worst "trying to rock" moments.

Damn, Shiver is one of my favorites.
