been a fan of these guys for awhile, Black sheep boy might well be the album of the year...

I don't think Black Sheep Boy is that amazing, really. They are a good band, and that is a good album, but vertainly not AotY material.

Yeah, it seems like they are just sort of "there" when I listen to them. they hardly cause much of a splash, but i really should give there new one a listen again.

I think I should add that "For Real" was a fucking awesome song. Some fabulous singles, but the deep cuts didn't carry the weight, really

yeah, they are a fine band, I like that "Black" song of theirs...
they have a Bright Eyes-esque feeling, still they can't top Oberst's work...

I've been listening to Black Sheep Boy lately. Really digging it. My biggest fault with the album is that the songs sound a little too similar each other.

Does anyone know the story the album is trying to convey?

I've listened to this albums a few times, and each time at the end I think "yeah, that was pretty good" but then I never go back and listen to it again. 'Black' and 'So Come Back I'm Waiting' are both great though.
