It's not my favorite album, but my favorite part of an album in general is the opening guitar riff of Led Zeppelin "Tea For One".

Not my favorite album (gotta be close though), but this immediately came to mind when I read the thread title.

Tom Waits: Bone Machine. When his voice comes momentarily out of his falsetto into his deep, cracking, and booming singing voice in Dirt in the Ground. While trying to get into him it was one of my listens to this song that made me realize he had amazing control over his voice and it wasn't just a growling mess cuz he ruined his voice in the early 1980s. This was very early in the Tom Waits game for me, by the way.

It's probably from the rusty guitar lead on Immortality to "'I cannot stop the thought. I'm running in the dark"
