Had the idea for this thread a couple of nights ago whilst watching a Van Halen video and considering what an under-rated drummer Alex VH is: if you were putting together supergroups made up not of those musicians who are always in the discussion of "best of" for their respective instrument, but instead using those who you find to always be under-rated, who would you choose? I came up with the following...
Drums - Stephen Perkins (Jane's Addiction) Bass - Duff McKagan Guitars and vocals - Ian Thornley (Big Wreck)
And another one
Drums - Alex Van Halen Bass- Mike Inez (AIC) Guitar and vocals- Chriss Goss (Masters of Reality, Desert Sessions)
I tried to put together groups that would also be pretty compatible musically. I kind of cheated by going the power trio route, but I was drawing blanks on under-rated singers. Have at it, interested to see what you guys come up with.
