I used to think they were the best thing since sliced bread when homework was out (and their many remixes).

then came discovery...and then human after all. Now I think their sound is so fuckin cheesy, it makes velveeta look like spam.

Homework is great, but I think Discovery is their best. I've heard clips of Human After All and I was disappointed. Daft Punk are great, but if you ever track down some of the samples they've used you will realize that they don't really do that much more than loop tracks together.

I like their videos, usually pretty slick.

The Robot Rock one is filmed ultra-cheesy 80's sci-fi style, I enjoy it.

discovery was sub par at best. I was expecting something completely mind blowing when I was waiting for it to come out.

and yes, they do just loop samples. I loved the basic-ness of Homework, and how it was receorded. it was raw.

When you listen to their side projects, especially le knight club, the shit was awesome. All old forgotten tunes touched up and looped. but still fuckin solid.

then, they fell in love with that cheesy vocoder, and essentially just stopped making music. One advantage with dance music is that artists are constantly coming out with new stuff....

except for daft punk

their homework vd is pretty sweet. it has the dafunk video (with the dog), as well as the making of the around the world video.

Good anime's for discovery, but i think the french sound just crashed. they'd tried to get to fuckin sexy and ended up cheesy. basement Jaxx, Cassius, and the whole daft crew.

what a shame

agreed, the new live album they did is the best thing in their catalog. There, you can see the genius of these guys. Seeing them live a couple of years ago was mind blowing. Wished they'd come around more often.

I actually prefer Alive 1997 over Alive 2007.
