What are your favorite original scores? Not interested in soundtracks that are just a bunch of rock songs thrown together. I mean actual compositions here.

A few of my favorites:

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
The Fountain
Saving Private Ryan
The Fellowship of the Ring

In general I really like anything by Hans Zimmer and John Williams, too. No surprise there though. Also I'm not really a movie guy so I haven't seen very many underground or even a lot of the important classic movies.

I never saw this movie until my roommate convinced me to watch it. Fucking incredible movie and really unique music.

Oh shit, I forgot to add The Last Unicorn soundtrack. Fucking great shit!

oh yea. classic shit. ecstasy of gold is one of my favorite songs ever.

I've heard bits of the soundtrack for Letters from Iwo Jima and I thought it was nice

Definately agree with the fountain. One of the few soundtracks I can sit down and listen to outside of the movie.

I'm gonna have to track that shit down.

I really like all three LotR soundtracks. I think The Two Towers was my favorite.

Hmm. I thought I'd have more to contribute to this thread, but those are all that's coming to mind. I used to really like the Gladiator soundtrack but I haven't listened to it in years.

The Godfather trilogy.

In The Mood For Love (the scored songs) and Akira, check that shit out Buff.

Hells yeah.

Buggin - Performed by Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Elmer Fudd is quite a classic.
