Anyone else check this out today? What a great kick ass rock record. The entire band sounds reinvigorated, better than anything Live did in the last 10 years by far.

This is a very good record. Going into the rotation.

I just downloaded this thing... Maybe I'll give it a listen soon.

Needs some guitar solos - if you're gonna go classic rock, go all the way with it. I still like it, just gets a little blandish w/out the layering

Wait so this is Live with the dude from Candlebox singing? Is it worth checking out cuz Live's last few albums sucked balls? I pretty much refuse to listen to Eddie K.'s or whatever the fuck he wants to go by now new album cuz he turned into or always was a huge tool.

It's the 3 members of Live not named Ed K with Kevin and one of the guitarists from Candlebox...very much worth checking out, really rocking

This is why I love RM. Never heard of Gracious Few...just went to their site & downloaded a song for free. Sounds awesome...always loved Candlebox...downloading now & looking forward to it.

I'll check it out. I heard of this a few months ago but was skeptical like I said earlier because V through Songs from Black Mountain was a terrible run of albums. I did feel bad for the guys after Eddie K. just dropped them like they were nothing to him. Pretty fucked up move for a singer and lyricist that clearly ran out of ideas 3 albums ago. Still love Mental Jewelry through the distance to here though, some great songs on those albums.

Kowalcyzk definitely pulled his share of dick moves, if the claims of the other 3 (well, one speaking for all 3) are indeed true. But for those 3 guys to come out and say they can never share a stage again with him, that they consider the relationship damaged beyond repair, and the friendship to be dead, says a lot.

I'm REALLY digging this disc right now, it's met all of my (high) expectations.

Kowalcyzk or Eddie K. now (he might he dropped that nonsense already) probably did do all the they claim. His actions on leaving the band seem consistent with what they said. I always really liked Live until the album V came out. there were a couple good tracks there but they really fell off after The Distance to Here. That album was a grower but it was full of good songs. After that is seems like Eddie K. became so full of himself that he didn't want much imput from the band and then every song had the word love in it 25 times from then on. I've only heard the one gracious few song on the website it was ok on first listen but I might give the rest a spin.

U guys remember that song Pillar of Davidson from Throwing Copper, I put it on a couple days ago and that song is still really fuckin good. That was a great album.

I think even The Distance To Here had the word love in it at least ten times per song.

it's insane that a song as good as Hold Me Up (AKA the Zack and Miri climax song) couldn't make that record or any of it's followups

or even be released

so true. They could have replaced maybe waitress with that song and Throwing Copper would have been even better.

And yeah the Distance to Here had the word love overused in every song except maybe Voodoo Lady or Where Fishes Go but that was the first time he didn't have anything else to talk about on an album so it wasn't annoying yet. The V came around and I kinda just wanted him to shut up or start being weird again.

Waitress is a fuckin really good song. No way that can be replaced.

I was a HUGE Live fan for many years - then I saw them open up for the Counting Crows at some point....I think it was during The Distance tour - they were SO uninspired and bored up on stage. When they came out no one around me had any idea it was even Live...it was one of the more strange concert moments I've ever had. I saw them once a couple of years ago and they really killed it, but the show was short and appeared somewhat contrived. When they broke up I was a little upset but I'm glad those guys came out with this - it's a good record...could just use some more kickass guitar solos. Ed's solo album blows...I hope he grows his balls back b/c the dude's got great stage presence and clearly has the ability to write amazing songs.

mostly just sounded like bad LIve rejects or radio rock to me, and i never noticed how similar Martin and Ed K sound sometimes. All I Hear sounds pretty good. the rest dont do anything for me.
