1) O Holy Night

my favorite part is that moment right after "divine" and the subsequent "o night"

...fall on your knees
oh hear the angels voices
o night divine ~~~
oh night
when Christ was born
...

:)

My new favourite Christmas song is the Little Drummer Boy version that Wintersleep are currently giving away free on their website.

I do like this track from Paul Simon's most recent album - Getting Ready for Christmas Day:

Anything from the Phil Spector Christmas Album is great. Especially this:

I wouldn't mind the Buble, if he wasn't so drenched in autotune all the time. The dude can sing, why does he allow it?

Buble can sing but can't phrase and has little capacity for tapping into a song's emotional center--and for a guy who models himself so distinctly after Sinatra, Bing, Dino, etc. that's a big but. He does better on his pop crossover material; the best I'd say about any of his takes on standards is that he knows how to dress like someone who should be able to sing them better.

I take back everything I said about disliking most modern Christmas songs, if only because this amazing song slipped my mind:

For a Christmas song, I find it almost unbearably sad.
