I think she's a brilliant artist. She has integrity and imagination. She's a force who understands exactly what she is and what she wants to be. She's unique and fierce. And loyal. And involved. And inventive. And I hate her music.
All of what durdencommatyler said except the last sentence.
Her albums are singles-plus-filler deals, but that's to be expected. A mix of the radio hits is, as Robert Christgau says, "shallowness at its most principled."

I can't think of any artist I've ever completely respected as much as Lady GaGa, whose actually art I just don't enjoy. I can handle a song or two every other mouth or so. But mostly the music itself rubs me the wrong way. But I love everything about her artistic sensibility and aesthetic. But Poker Face give me migraines.
my story with her is that my former roommate exhausted himself about telling me how great she is and how she is a true artist and that I'd be proud of her because her "Bad Romance" video was inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey (im a film studies major) etc and how she incorporates good art into her music and videos.
I don't know, she must have liked the futuristic pods and outfits in the movie, because I cannot for the life of me figure out what it had to do with her song "Bad Romance"
I mean, I respect and admire her work ethic, but her style just bothers me to no end.

Seriously, she's the latest shiny product that fascinates weak minds, disguising her lack of personality by wearing bright colors and odd outfits. Faux avant-garde à la Madonna, I can't stand this shit.
