Just tried to get tix for one of the Melbourne shows for an Irish mate who will be in Oz in November, and who is a MASSIVE RH fan. What a clusterfuck. And nothing to show for it either. And i thought PJ sales were a headfuck. Grrrrrr..

I really like it and pretty much always have. It's a weird record, not their best overall, but very interesting. For a band that was so credited with presenting it's fans with challenging work this feels like the first thing that's actually challenged anybody in years. I want to see it played live. From the Basement is awesome.

After falling in love with The Bends and OK Computer; Kid A, Amnesiac, and a large portion of Hail to the Thief were incredibly challenging my freshman year of college.

I found Hail to the Thief to be the album which took the longest to really get in to.

Go to Sleep blew me away. That one was very pleasing to my 18 year old ears. As well as There There. At the time I was against pretty much any instrumentation that wasn't bass, drums, guitar.

Hail to the Thief is well below their best albums for me, but I still like it quite a bit. We Suck Young Blood and Wolf at the Door are probably my favorites from that album. So dark and fucked up.

Hail to the Thief is near the top of the heap for me. I love it.

"I Will" doesn't get the respect it deserves.

HttT is a pretty remarkable album in my estimation...the two previous to it have too many noodley self-indulgent instrumental pieces that I don't really get all that excited about. Leaving them at about 7 good/great songs per album. All the while the much maligned HttT has 10+ good/great songs on it with quite a bit of variety.

Well I'll let you return to the edge of your seat waiting for Kid A, Treefingers, Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors, and Hunting Bears to come on their respective albums. I'll continue to enjoy How to Disappear..., Pyramid Song, and Knives Out, among others a lot more.

So that's 3 songs out of 21 tracks? Kid A isn't really instrumental at all. That's what I was shaking my head at.
Yeah, but it's not really something I would ever look forward to listening to. I love Kid A and Amnesiac, so not sure why I needed the head shake...I was simply saying that HttT gets looked upon as a disappointment by many, especially after Kid A. My point was both the previous record has less than 10 songs I really enjoy, which isn't an indictment as much as a fact. They're still great records, HttT just has a lot of good songs.
