[Raises hand]
I really started listening to them when I saw them open for Pearl Jam in Detroit in 1994. After that, Mockingbirds caught on. I saw them live a ton of times, including opening for REM in Rome in 1995. Copperopolis is one of my favorite albums from the 1990's.
I'm not a big fan of Grant Lee Phillips' solo material, but it's nice seeing him live and playing the GLB material.
As an aside, I've met Grant Lee Phillips a couple of times after shows here in Chicago. He's a very down to earth guy. It's weird seeing him on the Gilmore Girls. But, to each their own.
i don't know how these guys slipped under my radar so long. mighty joe moon is easily in the top 10 albums of the 90s. damn this is good stuff.

Albums to get in order:
1. Mighty Joe Moon 2. Copperopolis 3. Jubilee 4. Fuzzy
Jubilee was the first (and only) album that they recorded without Paul Kimble (their old bassist). The album is smoother and poppier. Copperopolis is fantastic in its own right and on a different level.

All their albums are amazing. Get 'em all. Get 'Mobilize' the second GLP solo album, too. It's this unique blend of folk and electronica-like tunes. It is also mighty fine. His other solo albums you can safely dismiss. The shows since 2002 I've attended have all been the right side of awesome, except for this years- his bass player let him down badly. Still, you'll love the Buffalo albums-the business.
Regarding the post above: Kimble produced their albums, too, which is why he was so important. Fuck it, though, they made a crackin' album without him anyhow.

GLP is coming back to Dublin in April. In Whelan's, my lounge-room. Yay. Out of the 6 times I've seen him, I've never actually seen him solo. The first time he had a full band, the second two times he had a fiddle player, the next three times head a stripped down band, and this time i'll actually be seeing him solo. Should be good. The last time wasn't great. The bass player sucked arse.
Apparently 2 Buffalo albums have been re-released in digipacks with new liner notes by GLP, but none contain bonus tracks. Cunts.

I've heard of them for awhile, but not until I heard Happiness on an episode of House did I get any albums. I have Mighty Joe Moon and Fuzzy. Happiness is still my favorite song.

First 2 reunion shows played May 5 and 6. Basically all of Fuzzy bar 2 songs, nearly all of Mighty Joe Moon, and 2 Copperopolis tracks. Nothing from Jubilee. Dublin show on May 17, London May 18. Gonna be a great 2 shows. Can't wait!
