i kinda feel like maybe all these bands/artists truly believe 2012 is the end of the world and are trying to get all of the last great music in before we're all gone? :lol:

thing is... Ghosts of the Great Highway was damn near my #1 album of the 00's, and April might have actually eclipsed it... or came closer than I ever expected possible.

so I won't put it past the guy :)

I think at the end of the day, Ghosts is #1 (both of SKM albums and of the decade) because of the totalness of the record, but April is really hard to argue with as well. I have unbelievably high hopes for this.

April is a BIT long ... if i had to make any complaint about it.

but it's stunning through and through. one of the best late night albums ever.

The thing is, the 10 minute songs on April are my favorites--Tonight the Sky, Tonight in Balboa, and Lost Verses. It was the seven minute tracks in the middle of the album that made it too long for me sometimes.

i love it all, but April can test my patience sometimes. i definitely have to be in the right mood for it. great music to listen to at work though.
