How many separate artists do you guys have on your iPods?

I have 299 artists, at 60 songs/artist average.

Mine says 1891 artists but I can't imagine that's entirely accurate; for example, I have "Elvis Costello" and "Elvis Costello & The Attractions" listed as different artists.

How do I see the song averages per artist?

Haha...take your number of songs and divide by number of artists.

Yeah. I don't actually have 299 because of the Elvis Costello thing, plus I have Pearl Jam and Pearl Jam (Live) and stuff like that. Just was looking for round-about figures.

I like the order and accuracy of having the artists more specific than lumping them together. I also have the year before every album title in my iPod, so they're organized in chronological order, and every album has its album cover next to it...I definitely have music O.C.D.

Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Will Oldham, Palace Music, Palace Brothers
Ben Folds, Ben Folds Five
Billy Bragg, Billy Bragg & Wilco
Bob Dylan, Bob Dylan & the Band
I have Elvis Costello, Elvis Costello & the Attractions, and just "Elvis Costello &" where I have whoever he played with on that specific album
Frank Zappa, Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention
Iggy Pop, Iggy & the Stooges
Jimi Hendrix, Jimi Hendrix Experience
Neil Young, Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Pearl Jam, Pearl Jam (Live)
Queens of the Stone Age, QOTSA Desert Sessions
Radiohead, Radiohead b-sides
Ryan Adams, Ryan Adams & the Cardinals
Tom Petty, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
Tom Waits, Tom Waits (Non-album)

I think I may be suffering from what we in the soft-sciences call "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder", or the "The O.C. Disorder".

You have "Radiohead b-sides" as an artist? For shame.

Because some of his albums are solo and some are with The Attractions. Also some are with The Imposters and some are with the Brodsky Quartet. One is with Burt Bacharach.

C'mon, people. Do a thread a service for once and actually respond relevantly.
