Soundgarden do indeed rule!
No other band comes anywhere close...not even Pearl Jam...even WITH Matt...
well lets not say thingd we will regret Soundgarden are so overrated when it comes to greatest 90's bands... one of their best.
Oh, I don't regret it...not one little bit! Soundgarden is my all-time favorite band. (Although, I must admit that, back in '91, Pearl Jam was my favorite.)
I'm generous, though...I'll forgive your saying that Soundgarden are overrated simply because I also like R.E.M....and every time I see your name I can't get that song out of my head.

Soungarden was my second favorite band throughout the 90's.
I saw them play Roseland Ballroom in 1997. Awesome show. But what a huge difference between Soundgarden and Pearl Jam in terms of stage presence and graciousness. Soundgarden were a bunch of pissed off, ugly motherfuckers on stage. They spit on the crowd... challenged anyone in the room to a fight... it was surreal.

That's kind of impossible you saw them in 1997. They broke up in January of '97 and the last shows were in OZ. You probably just messed up your years.
The only bastard in the band who spit on people is Ben. I want to dislike him because of it, but then he did the HATER album and well, anyone who can write and sing the song "Who Do I Kill?" is a funny motherfucker in my book. But with that said, SG were a rough band.... and they were so heavy.... their sound was just all low-end. AMAZING!

You're right... I saw them in the fall of 1996. They were supposed to do multiple nights at Roseland, but they cancelled the final show cuz Cornell was sick. The show I saw, Cornell's voice wasn't that great but he gave it everything he had. Maybe because he was sick, he was a bit pissed-off.
You're also right about Ben...he was spitting at the crowd, giving people the finger, yelling at them. At the end of the show he bashed his bass into some speakers. It WAS entertaining.
That "heavy" sound is what I love about the band. In time... I think Soundgarden will be considered as legendary as Black Sabbath.
Was Ben always so pissed off because he was mixed so poorly on Superunknown? You can barely tell there is a bass player on that album.
mr. full
mr. have
kills mr. empty hand

Who actually has Louder Than Love?
What about Ultramega OK?
I have both of them. I think Ultramega OK kinda sucks. I think I've only listened to it twice in 7 years. LTL is awesome, however.
Of course, Badmotorfinger rules all.
I have both of them. But, while Ultramega OK isn't their best work, I certainly don't think it sucks. There's some good stuff on there, like Beyond the Wheel and Incessant Mace.
Ultramega ok is a quality piece of Soundgarden, so is louder than love. That stuff is every bit as creative as thier later stuff, mabey more so some. Check them again. Mood for Trouble Flower, incessant mace, he didnt, all outstanding.
