i don't know in the US people seem to say great things about his bands more than people listen. I've never seen much in those bands.

Funny you mention this. I'm going to see him this Saturday in Dublin. I heard a bit of one his shows in Whelan's a few years back (was gettin' my mate Irwin in on a blag, as he's a fan), and I thought it was quiet shite and met Irwin when he was done.

Now I'm going to see him with Irwin this Saturday, because Irwin wants it taped. It's gonna bore me shitless. I'll do it because Irwin's me mate, but I ain't too happy about it. He's payin' me in and buyin' me the pints though.

Ended up going to this is in Dublin with my mate Irwin (he's the fan). It bored me shitless. 2 whole hours of quiet shite. Anyway, I taped it and will upload it if anyone's silly enough to give a rat's arse about it

Why would it being released earlier have anything to do with it? I'm fairly certain I prefer April at this point, and it's definitely my favorite record of the year.

I Agree.April is by now,my album of the year. The level of honesty that i can fell on those compositions is something i havent heard in a looong time. Some compositions reminds me what was euphoria morning years ago for me.And,moorestown,is my fav from the year.At least in what touching is concern.
Saludos!!!

well, Ghosts is one of my favorite albums of the last 15 years...

but as far as my comment, had i heard April first, i might have been more enamored/impressed with it compared to Ghosts is all i meant. April is a bit more laboring listen than Ghosts. April might be more consistent, just doesn't have quite the highs for me (nothing will ever touch Carry Me Ohio)

I've been listening to him a lot lately. I think I prefer the Sun Kil Moon stuff over Red House Painters. But yeah, its hard to make it through an entire album, with the exception of Ghost...
