Modern-day guys I'm talking... I'm a huge fan of Danny Carey and Mike Portnoy.
My all time favorite is Peart. Although for pure channeling of 'feeling' I'd probably go with Bonham. I loved Ginger Baker as well. And Keith Moon. And Bill Bruford. And Stewart Copeland. And Matt Cameron of course... and many others.
I think my present-day favorite drummer is Gavin Harrison though. "...As we say 'The creme de le creme', as they say in the creme business"
How about you all?

I second all those guys.
Grohl was a beast with Queens and TCV.
Brooks Wackerman. Since he joined Bad Religion they've been better than ever, and his brother Chad played with Frank Zappa.
One guy that's got tons of personality is Olley Peacock from Gomez. I've never heard someone add so much taste to a live set. Really interesting stuff, its just too bad Gomez hasn't written good music in years.
Ray Luzier. He was David Lee Roth's drummer, but he was incredible on the Army of Anyone tour. He's now in Korn.
Kenny Aronoff. He's Mellencamp's main guy, but he's also been in Smashing Pumpkins, and often tours with John Fogerty.
Jimmy Chamberlin, Jon Fishman, Matt Sorum, Janet Weiss, Dave Abbruzzese. There are tons of really great drummers out there these days.

Janet Weiss and Glenn Kotche stand out to me, for different reasons. Glenn is a wonderful musician who approaches the drums as a songwriting tool, and Janet's just a great classic rock and roll pummeling machine in the Keith Moon tradition. The fella from The National, whose name escapes me at the moment, does a wonderful job of making that band stand out from the pack, supporting the song while adding their own touch.
For me, I find that it's hard to love drummers, more than most instrumentalists, outside of music that I don't have regard for. You know, I like Stevie Ray's guitar playing even if the music itself doesn't do much for me. But concurrently, I feel that the connecting thread for all my favorite music is that they have a fantastic drummer who always adds something vital to the song. Hopefully that makes some kind of sense.
Thomas Pridgen (also former Mars Volta drummer)..... The END.
Oh, I should give an honorable mention to this guy. It's like Chris Farley and Will Farrell fucked each other's fucks and this fuck came out. Seriously he looks like he could be their kid.
