Are you Piece of Cake guys high? It's such an inconsistent album and is generally regarded as a disappointment with the exception of a couple of standout tracks.

Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge is miles ahead and I'm also quite partial to My Brother.

Piece Of Cake:

"[Untitled 1]" – 0:38
"No End In Sight" – 3:34
"Make It Now" – 4:25
"When In Rome" – 3:55
"[Untitled 2] – 0:25
"Suck You Dry" – 2:34
"Blinding Sun" – 3:39
"Thirteenth Floor Opening" – 2:31
"Youth Body Expression Explosion" – 1:59
"I'm Spun" – 4:04
"[Untitled 3]" – 0:40
"Take Me There" – 3:32
"Living Wreck" – 3:30
"Let Me Let You Down" – 3:57
"[Untitled 4]" – 0:29
"Ritzville" – 2:38
"Acetone" – 4:15

The album's 17 tracks with 4 throwaways. So its essentially 13 songs, and I like 7 of them. That's not that bad.

You can't really discount the Untitled's though, they are part of the whole album and part of what makes it an inconsistent listen.

I do chuckle at the 'techno' untitled however :D

'TECHNOOOOOOOOOO'

I dunno, I just think it's their most solid collection of tunes. Mudhoney are a great band but all of their albums are pretty hit-and-miss for me, I usually skip at least a few songs. Piece of Cake is the only one I thoroughly enjoy all the way through.

I sometimes wonder if POC is the one most people reference because it was the first major label album and had major label publicity. Plus 'Suck You Dry' would have to be the penultimate Mudhoney tune.

My Brother the Cow has such great production and feels like a much more cohesive album. I think it has stood the test of time a bit better too.

Clearly, this is factually incorrect. They've written dozens since then!

(Sorry.)

Honestly, it's nothing to do with more publicity or anything like that. I really think it has a bunch of great songs and hangs together better as an album than anything else they've released.

My Brother The Cow and Tomorrow Hit Today are my favorite Mudhoney albums. They're both really great all the way through.

Twice opening for PJ (1994 & 1998) and once headlining in DC in '98. The headlining gig was the best.

Never seen Mudhoney, sadly enough.

Can't recall why I didn't see them in January 1999, the show was sold out in 2004 before I got my shit together and they're coming to Oz shortly but skipping Adelaide.

I blasted My Brother the Cow today - it's pretty awesome, but I still maintain Piece of Cake is just that tiny bit more consistent. MBTC is about 85% killer, though.

Aw man really? They're even coming down here to a pretty small pub that ive played at like a dozen times. How they are going to fit everyone in there i have no idea. I'm looking forward to it though.

Handsome Tours have a grudge against Adelaide.

Looks like it'll be the next month or two. Hopefully it won't take too long for a global release.

There was a private screening of I'm Now in West Seattle this past weekend. The filmmakers tell me the first public premiere will be in December or January.

I for one, am super looking forward to it. Both this, and the upcoming KARP doc Kill All Redneck Pricks.
