Just got these the other day and I'm blown away. The whole package is awesome. The content, the artwork, the remastering...everything. They make the Pearl Jam deluxe sets look like a total joke.

Billy Corgan really needed this project to take off like it did, didn't he?

Multi-cam pro-shots with soundboard audio. They're gorgeous.

The Gish dvd is a little rough but watchable. The Siamese Dream dvd is pro shot but not hd. Interesting to see the growth in 2 or 3 years.

The Pitchfork review for these two reissues is glowing. It actually made me feel good inside for liking these albums as much as I do. It's probably too late to put either of these on my Christmas list, but I may be spending Christmas money on one of the boxes come January.

If you can only get one I'd go with Siamese Dream. Better dvd and musically I like it a bit better than Gish.

Gish gets more listens from me, though I think that Siamese Dream has stronger songs and arrangements. I credit this phenomenon to things like this:

FloydTheBarber wrote:
I had forgotten just how good Gish is. So meandering and dreamy.

and this:

pitchfork wrote:
In contrast to Gish's steady flow, Siamese Dream crashes out of the gate...

...Siamese Dream's songs don't blend into each other, but some transitions exist...

Flow, basically. Gish just works.

Bought the Siamese Dream reissue today. The packaging on this thing is just stellar and I have watched about half of the DVD and I love it. Hopefully we will get the final Metro show at some point. Can anyone hear much of a difference between the original album and the reissue? I think I'm missing something.

It's a remaster, so it won't sound drastically different - the levels of all the instruments and so forth aren't going to be altered like they would in a complete remix (like the Brendan O'Brien version of Ten). The 24bit digital files are spectacular, I wish all bands would take as much care when reissuing their old stuff.

Didn't realize there was actually a title track somewhere. This is really good!

Anyone have any links to sites that host all of the unreleased stuff and b-sides? I remember years ago there being a site that had all of the demos and stuff but I can't find it...

Does the vinyl reissue come with any of the extra stuff you guys are talking about?

Not that I've seen. Just the remastered albums.
