Watching the webcast they did tonight, I think they've just got an unbelievable catalogue. Even while concentrating on only the last three albums, it was incredible songs, one after the other after the other. I think they're the band to beat right now; it's very reminiscient of R.E.M.'s gradual climb to the top. Which is great, cause I didn't think that kind of thing could happen anymore.

explain this band to me. all their songs start at a normal volume, and build up slowly to a little bit louder than normal volume. during that time its pretty draggy and repetitive.

What exactly is their to like about this music? They couldn't come off as blander if they tried, I can't see myself giving them a chance. Basically, will some fan wax poetic for a bit to convince me otherwise?

judging from your comment, they're clearly not for you, move on. i doubt they or their fans (myself included) will lose any sleep over it.
