I just ordered Laura Burhenn's 2004 solo record "Wanderlust" which has excellent reviews. It's out of print but I found it used on Amazon.com. I can't find her first solo record, 1999's "Not Ashamed To Say" anywhere.

I'm also downloading the Georgie James album "Places" which was released in 2007. It's the band she was in after her solo records but before The Mynabirds.

I want to hear every song this girl has ever sung.

Report back as soon as you can, friend.

Because I think we want the same things.

The Georgie James album (and single that I'm also getting) are on a torrent site but I'm not currently connecting to any seeders. So that sucks. I should have the solo record some time between July 5th and July 12th.

I might tweet her about that first solo record. See if it can be tracked down anywhere.

Looks like Places and Wanderlust are both available for download on Amazon as well as CD format. Maybe I'll grab those guys, too...

Yeah I'm not paying for mp3s. That's why I ordered the Wanderlust CD.

I was just thinking how amazing this song is so I googled it for the lyrics, and turns out it's a Leonard Cohen cover. I've never really listened to Leonard Cohen (I know, I'm sorry). Chelsea Hotel No. 2. It's gorgeous.

I thought that was a real swell performance of Buffalo Soldier.

I think Right Place might be my favorite Mynabirds song.

Also, hearing a girl sing the line "giving me head on the unmade bed" is just plain hot.
