What you said about their live work for Generals is exactly the reaction my friends had after seeing them. Everyone was most impressed with their precision and meticulousness in creating their sound.

That's Rebecca Miller and she damn near stole the show. She does a lot more than just sing back up vocals, she'll bang on various percussion instruments and play loop machines or some shit too.

I feel like there was a good reason, but I don't remember what it was. I probably could have interviewed her for CultureMap if I had tried. She seems pretty open to that sort of promotional thing.

Remember the time I picked up that Mynah Birds reissue for Record Store Day last year because I thought that was the band you were always talking about?

6/10
The first "this is what you get" section and that cricial "I lost myself" part are where she shines. The rest sort of seems like a good, if not particularly original cover of the song. I've always thought the studio version of Karma Police is far and away the definitive version, though, so I may be a bit biased.

Also inferior to the original version, but good for a late night, drunken listen:
The last third of the song takes on it's own mood, and I really like that part. Still, this remix goes a different direction than the original song, and I'm not too sure it's the right direction for a song as pure as this one. The original has always reminded me of what a waltz with Laura Palmer inside the Black Lodge would be like.
