I'm going to pick up some turkey stock from a friend, and then I'll listen to it.

Hey Reid, PM me your address. I have a few things to send you and I lost the piece of paper I wrote it down on.

Did you touch these daytrotter sessions up or was this the broadcast? It sounds great.

These are all unedited, downloaded from the Daytrotter website.

At the risk of sounding like our resident loveable hyperbolator, Joey, "This Will Be Our Year" is just an absolutely perfect song for this band to cover.

I'm a big fan of Lemon Tree, myself.

When Laura sings about warm Christmas weather on that last track, she's singing about Texas. :luv:

The Daytrotter version of "Disaster" owns the album version--that song was maybe the single dip in the momentum of "Generals" for me, here it sounds vibrant and alive.

One thing you notice listening to the two sessions broken apart and mixed together like this is how much more meticulous a live band they became with their second record. The stuff from the first record has this gritty, almost ragged Southern soul to it--not unpolished, just very organic and loose. The "Generals" material is almost militaristic in its attention to detail. You did a great job pacing this mix--the two approaches play off each other beautifully.

Thanks, friend. And I love Disaster. It's probably my favorite song from Generals but the album version does it no justice compared to Daytrotter and the live version I witnessed.

They also did Numbers Don't Lie for their 2010 Daytrotter session but I left it off the mix. It's not bad, I just had trouble placing it.

Would you mind sharing it as a bonus track? Or is it available elsewhere?
