I haven't just discovered this song, I've known it for years, but if I can make sure just one person 'recently discovers' it, I'll be a happy bunny.

This song is like ear candy. Not complex, poppy, bright and cheesy, but really hitting all the right buttons. Some of the instrumentation is lovely.

I really enjoyed it and am off to Youtube to see if I'll enjoy anything else by them.

as the story is often told on the radio: they've only got this one song.

from an interview:

Quote:
I'm glad you like Trojans, we're proud of that little song. Especially as it's the first of our babies to be sent out into the world. As far as releases go, we're currently trying to decide how we want to release our next batch of songs. It might be just a single at a time or perhaps an EP. I honestly don't know yet.

I've just discovered this and I'm currently in pieces. Powerful and pertinent little pop song.

Edit: apparently everything else by him is crap though.

That was good. Right up my alley. Thanks for posting. I've only heard Wire from Pandora, so I'm very limited in what I know about them. I'll have to check more of their stuff out.

Do it! Their first three records are seminal.

I don't know these guys personally, but they're from here and are friends of friends, etc.

This song is good. Really, really good. I like it! A whole bunch!

Quote:
Afghan Hound is the second release from Australian duo Manor, comprising Nathaniel Morse and Caitlin Duff.

The follow-up to last year's debut Rhodesia, Afghan Hound was recorded in a Melbourne bedroom, mixed by Ned Cooke (Dappled Cities) with additional production by Lee Groves (Goldfrapp, Elbow) and mastered in Brooklyn by Joe Lambert (Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors.)

A labyrinth of Morse's decaying guitars march to a hypnotic beat, providing the dreamlike backdrop for Duff's enchanted vocals in a superb slice of transcendental pop.
