Garbage has announced that their fifth studio album, Not Your Kind Of People, will be released in the United States on May 15 via the band's own label, STUNVOLUME. Garbage will hit the road this spring in support of the album by performing several headlining shows as well as various festivals throughout Europe and the U.S. So far, the only dates confirmed are four headlining shows overseas in May and a handful of European festivals in June. "Thinking about going back on the road is both thrilling and terrifying in equal measure," said singer Shirley Manson. "But we've always enjoyed a little pain mixed in with our pleasure." While the new album from Garbage, Not Your Kind Of People, is due out on May 15, the band has announced a handful of east coast tour dates following the album's release. The run of shows begins on May 22 in New York and wraps on May 28 in Toronto. Garbage has already rolled out a west coast tour of the U.S. for April, as well as a number of dates overseas in May and June. Meanwhile, Modern Rock KITS (Live 105)/San Francisco is streaming a snippet of the band's new single, "Blood For Poppies." You can check it out here.

Garbage is offering their new single, "Blood For Poppies," as a free download via their website, http://www.garbage.com. The song will be included on their first new album in seven years, Not Your Kind of People, which comes out on May 15. Shirley knows how to work a crowd but the last time I saw them, they didn't even play any of the slow stuff, which I was really looking forward to. I'd love to hear "You look so fine" live.
