I really think that these guys are one of the most underrated bands out there. Bringing Down the Horse is one of the few albums that I feel do not have a bad moment of music on it.

I didn't even know they had more than one album. But half that record was really excellent for all the sitting around moping I did when I was 14. The other half was just good.

That album's got some catchy tunes, but it's not something I'd play regularly.

I like these guys - their first self titled album was terrible - sounded like Dylan was singing out of tune the whole time. Bringing Down The Horse was a really good album that I still play today. The three later albums are good as well, less a few tunes here and there. I do think these guys are underrated or underappreciated - take your pick I guess. They don't break any ground musically, but they write some good tunes worth listening to.

saw Jakob Dylan for free last night and while he did play some things from his solo album, he didn't shy away from Wallflowers songs. The arrangements were more acoustic based, but Josephine and Three Marlenas were pretty true to form. Dats of Wonder, Here He Comes, How Good it Can Get, I Wish I felt Nothing and Sleepwalker were among the Wallflowers songs played.

vid clips i took

I never understood why The Wallflowers didn't continue their success after Bringing Down The Horse. I wasn't a big enough fan to follow what happened to the band after the album and the tour, but musically they were a real breath of fresh air for the times that were dominated by Smash Mouth, Limp Bizkit and Staind.

I was just listening to this record today actually and thats how I feel, while I wouldnt call anything on it bad........most of it isnt exactly spectacular either. Some catchy, well written songs but for the most part it is pretty average stuff.

I think Breach is definitely their best album. I also really dug Rebel, Sweetheart. God Says Nothing Back might be my favorite song by them.

I liked that record too. I got into during a really sad time for me years ago. Seemed to fit the mood.

The Wallflowers played in town a few weeks ago at a local community park, the same park where I play disc golf. I missed it unfortunately.

I really liked their first album but never followed anything after that.

Bringing Down the Horse is my pick for the most underrated CD of the 90's. I've been saying this for years now.

I recently heard a new piece of music from Dylan. Not sure if it was Wallflowers, but it had that acoustic/country flair they always had.

Anyway, Bringing Down the Horse still gets massive play in my iTunes.

1st album was self titled - I like about half of the songs on this album. It showed a lot of promise.

2nd album was Bringing down the Horse - Very good album, loved the music and lyrics as well.

3rd album was Breach - Another very good album. When it first came out I thought it was going to be another big seller. I still don't see why it wasn't. Some amazing songs and lyrics here.

4th album was Red Letter Days - More of a rock record. Some really great songs and about 3 or 4 that aren't as good as the ones on the 2nd or 3rd album.

5th album was Rebel, Sweetheart - A bunch of good songs, but besides "Days of Wonder," nothing is exceptional.

I just bought Jakob Dylan's solo album that came out a few weeks ago. Good songwriting. All of the songs are acoustic, but once you hear the songs a couple of times, you realize what a good songwriter he is. The melodies and lyrics are very good.

This one night, I was high on ether and I drove my car home with one headlight. Halfway to my place, I think I hit a deer. It could have been an old lady pushing a carriage though, I'm not sure. The point is, if you drop your finger vibrator while driving, don't go fussing around on the floor of your Pinto trying to find it.

they didn't release an album for 4 years... might have had something to do with it

That appears to be the case.

Bob tends to write a lot and considering Jakob's current voice comparatively, I won't question this turn of events.
