Yet another Pittsburgh offering has us scratching our heads and breaking our things. There is no way to describe this nasty little platter without avoiding the pure rock 'n' roll undercurrent that SLICES has newly adopted. It should be no surprise considering the ROT SHIT connection but there are a lot of other touches at work here. There is some hardcore, some noise-rock, some soundscape and a healthy dose of anxious animosity. Fuck mustard anyway.

for how much i bitched, the new chris robinson cd is incredible.. not only my fav of this year but the best new cd to come out in a long time

The Walkmen cd is a pretty big disappointment. It isn't in the same universe as You & Me or Lisbon. It just doesn't seem to have any depth whatsoever. Nice sounding songs, but nothing to have me coming back for more.

Sigur ros, on the other hand, continues to amaze me. I cannot listen to this one enough.

This has been a really great year for music.

Maybe it's just me, perhaps I've sought out more new stuff this year than in years past, but I've enjoyed the end results regardless.
