Please correct me if I am wrong and you are not interested
For a format we'd do the usual second chance bracket (so double elimination) style. To give people who want to record time to record we'll arrange this so everyone has at least a week before they would have to submit something.
Also, anyone else interested?

In, although I only have 2 covers in mind at this point. How many will we need? If there's an odd number of participants I'm up for just submitting stuff for exhibition whenever someone has to back out for whatever reason.

I'm in it to lose it. With a new baby, a new job, almost no recording equipment left, and the same strings on my guitar that were used to record for the last covers contest, I'm not gonna have a whole lot to offer. But I'll throw down all the same.
I do have one cover that I'm pretty sure (??) I didn't use in the last contest. I can't remember well enough to say I'm certain that I didn't use it then, but I reckon it means that nobody else will remember it either.

i haven't spoken to conoalias in a long time, and we used to use his ftp server. Does anyone have an easy way to host this?
