man were they ever fun and super tight last night at First Ave...

despite the horrid turnout (First Ave was the biggest venue on the tour by almost 2x), kind of hoping they keep this going after this tour is over.

have seen Joseph tons of times over the years, but man he can really tear shit up on lead when he wants to.

yeah, the show was a lot of fun. very glad the came here and though the crowd size was disappointing, 300 maybe, i don't think it detracted from the show.

a few songs had some nice extended bits where, as solace said, joseph tore shit up. i stayed on his side and he was a lot of fun to watch. i thought the end of hollow girl and when the fire comes were particularly intense.i also liked his solo acoustic cherries in the snow- that's not a favorite on the album, but i really liked it here.

i don't recall if letting go of will was played, but they did the rest of the album and the song 'king of cleveland', as well as when the fire comes and can't exist (i assume, as i am not familiar with joseph's material and that has been the set closer on the tour). after cherries was played in the encore and there was a lull, i yelled out for 'i think of demons' and they played it! i was so excited. there was one or two more songs i wasn't familiar with before they closed with ain't no mag 7.

i hung around for a bit afterward since the band has been mingling with fans afterward at these shows, but there was a decent crowd around joseph and richard, so i let it be and played ms pac man instead. i don't think jeff ever came out. for merch i picked up one of the ski masks and the wristbands. i'm looking forward to playing broomball with that mask on.

jwhjr on the pit posted this album of photos from the show: http://s113.beta.photobucket.com/user/j ... brary/RNDM

If this is a Monkeywrench release, how come this wasn't available via the 10C?

it was (in pink vinyl) for like a day before it sold out.

i believe the black ones were available/given away with the purchase of the album at indie music stores.

Thanks for the RS link. I have audio from DC, but because parking around 14th St. and the U St. corridor is a fuckin' nightmare on weekends, I missed the first four or five songs. If I ever have time, I'll split the wavs, FLAC it, and get it up.

you do have to be subscribed. they might have a free trial thing available, but i'm not sure it'd be worth the hassle. if you do, great; if not, no worries and thanks for the offer.

edit: actually, is the pj radio stream on the 10c site the same as what's on sirius? if so, that may be an option, assuming you're a 10c member.
