I've been hooked on this album lately. It wasn't until I was reading a Rolling Stone top 500 albums that I realized it came out so long ago, where have I been, talk about influential.

It's very very good, and definitely a classic.

i end up listening to it once a month at least. just so, so good. punk-associated with jam-band chops. what a combo.

i have a r.e.m. show where michael stipe talks about how he loves watching fans stare at peter buck and then he found himself staring like that at tom verlaine when television had a reunion tour a few years ago.

such a good album, i wish all punk sounded like this. venus, elevation, and torn curtain are my favorites.

One of the best albums ever

Mmm...I love the title track, but that's about it. The rest is okay, but nothing is even in the same realm as "Marquee Moon." I'd say it's an overrated album, but the praise the song itself gets is definitely warranted.

Very very good album...but its not one of the best ever or anything like that. Television is probably one of the most ripped bands along with Joy Division right now.

Marquee Moon is overrated.. yet you're a Sonic Youth fan?

Thurston wouldn't know what to do with himself if he hadn't heard Verlaine. R.E.M., the Pixies, pretty much every significant "alternative" band of the past 20 years has been drastically and thoroughly influenced by this album.

I'm downloading this album right now

IT's always been one of those albums that I intend to buy everytime I go to a record store, but somehow I never have gotten around to picking it up, and when remember to pick it up, it is gone. I'm downloading it now, and I'll probably place it on special order if my local record store doesn't get a copy in soon.

I was listening to xm one day and they played a television song and I couldn't believe how much the music reminded me of a favorite band of mine, that will go nameless.

I'm aware how influential this album was, I just don't like it a ton. Verlaine's voice gets on my nerves.

I'm aware how influential this album was, and I can appreciate how much of an impact it had, I just don't like it a ton. Verlaine's voice gets on my nerves.
