White Pony is their best, IMO. S/T is fantastic too.

i've given this a couple of listens so far... i think it's pretty solid, but nothing that really stands out. it seems similar to Diamond Eyes (which I actually like quite a bit). i think Chino's voice sounds fantastic though, but none of the music has really jumped out at me yet.

i think leathers might be my favourite so far. i'm hoping it grows on me a bit more, but i fear it might fall in their lower tier of albums (Self Titled and Saturday Night Wrist) for me.

I think it's a bonus track on one of the editions. Don't quote me on that.

I mean I think its subtitle is 'Mini Maggit', so it's like another take to 'Pink Maggit'.

Back to school (mini maggot) was not originally on white pony...
I believe their record label forced them to re-release the album with it. But the band still maintains that white pony should be listened to the way it was originally released, without back to school.

It is. I thought they were taking the piss, personally. Isn't it mocking the nu-metal thing?

Anyway, so this Koi what's-it. I've not had any desire to listen to it again. Should I?

If you want to listen to them properly, don't start with this one!

they were a bit of a mess live around '99. Lots of drinking, partying getting in the way. Chino wasn't taking care of himself and it showed. I saw them in 2002 and it was a sloppy mess.

The show is much much better now. Seen them a few times over the past few years and it is a tight ship now. They sound/look great live now.

Never seen them live. I've heard plenty of criticism but I'm not sure whether any of it would bother me. Live music is a pretty subjective experience. Why was it bad: music was out of time, sounded awful, the singer couldn't sing? Or there was no crowd participation, they were boring and did nothing but played their instruments, they didn't talk to me? Personally I would rather a great sounding band which was the second type. So I enjoyed the Kings of Leon gig I went to, even though they're hardly very interactive.

Pretty much it sounded awful...not the sound but they..i mean the crowd was into it and they knew it, but chino´s voice wasnt good and their guitar player...they seemed to me like a "studio band".

ya, i listened to it again the other day for the first time since it's release and i think it's pretty solid from start to finish.. i still maintain that there aren't any real standout tracks, but i don't really think there are any throw-away's either.
