Aye, so the time is upon us once again for another season in which the MLS Powers that Be decide it's a good idea to continue playing during the World Cup. Fucking idiots.

Also, there's this:

MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER MATCHWEEK 1--

APRIL 1, 2006:
FC Dallas v. Chicago Fire - 4:00pm ET - ABC
Kansas City Wizards v. Columbus Crew - 8:30pm ET - Direct Kick (ONN)
Los Angeles Galaxy v. New England Revolution - 11:00pm ET - ESPN2

APRIL 2, 2006:
D.C. United v. Red Bull New York - 5pm ET - Direct Kick (CSN-DC / MSG)
CD Chivas USA v. Real Salt Lake - 7:00pm ET - Direct Kick (FSN-W / KSL)
Houston Dynamo v. Colorado Rapids - 7:30pm ET - Direct Kick (FSN-SW) / HDNet

Why did Houston get a nickname, it would have been so much cooler if they would have stuck with the year. :x

Because the Mexican population of Houston complained and threatened to boycott the team.

Why the league caved is anyone's guess. MLS doesn't draw the hispanic crowd ANYWAY, no matter how much they want it to.

Thanks DJ, I just didn't know the reason behind it, I had seen the year logo and name then I went back a couple weeks ago and I saw that they were the Dynamo (which in my opinion is a gay name, almost as gay as REAL S.L.)

I don't have a problem with Dynamo because there seems to be a reason behind it (at least they say there is).

Real Salt Lake? Stupid as hell.

Exactly, I mena there are so many Spaniards in Utah, it's crazy. Actually come to think off it all the Utah Sports team names are stupid as hell.

Okay I kind of like the AFL team name Utah Blaze, but that's about it.

I don't watch MLS, but I agree that Real Salt Lake is dumb. American clubs should not try to be European, especially when they are from Utah.
