I'm going to a D-Backs game next Tuesday, only because I got free tickets.

Dodgers.

But whoever wins has got to be better than TWO games over .500!

Seriously.

i honestly think it's going to come down to the last week between the dodgers and the Giants.

Gagne will be back in a min of 8 weeks, and in the mean time Danys Baez is an all star closer so they wont miss much there.

now the starting pitching? whole other story. these guys are shitty.

you don't think they miss much by having to move everyone up an inning?

He may be back then, if they are lucky, but chances are he will never be the same, or it may take a long time for him to reach that level again, if he ever does. I doubt he ever will.
And having to move everyone up in the bullpen can really suck. Sure, you still may have a middle of the road closer in Baez, but minus Gagne the overall bullpen drops from really good to average at BEST.

Giants have a similar problem with Benitez, except he sucks, so the overall bullpen outlook doesnt really change as much

mitch, I dont know yet, I wanna see the next weeks worth of games. If Brazabon can get his shit together hes definately a solid 8th inning guy. Duaner Sanchez was great in that role last yr, but hes a Met now.

I am not familiar with most of the dodgers new pen guys, but if they get it to the 9th with the lead Baez will not fail too many times.

Theres a kid in AAA Johnathan Broxton who is being groomed as the next LA CLoser and he may be ready to take the 8th inning slot very soon.

When (i dont wanna say if, too painful) Gagne comes back some of the new pen guys will at least be more established.

If any team can sustain the loss of a guy like Gagne with minor league future pitching talent, it's the Dodgers.

exactly.

wish we could have kept Joe Nathan though, that deal with pierzynski turned out to be pretty bad.

*one of the worst deals Sabian has ever made.
Otherwise, his deals usually turn out pretty good.

I went to the game yesterday where the Giants thrashed Tim Hudson (8 runs, 4 innings).

Good times.

FOR YOU!

Hudson is not pitching well. He's given up 13 runs in 8 innings. Atlanta's pitching has got to settle down otherwise this is gonna a LONG season.
