ATY, great song, but definately not one you'd want to go out on--for jack, the performance itself is nostalgic in a bad way, and then with his departure not even 6 months after than they finished the sessions, you're not going to want to remember those yesterdays. And Ed won't stop trying to make a difference. Nonetheless, there are some seriously good songs in hist catalogue

I think Dave Krusen and Jack enabled Stone to write the best riffs that Ed can/could sing to, and live, Abruzzes and Cameron have Ed's stamina and expectations and goals for a good live show, but Abruzzes lacked drumming variety, which was evident in band jams during his tenure, but also on the vs and vitalogy albums--not much variation in his beats. and irons work on foxeymop...GOD! IF YOU COULD ONLY LISTEN TO JACK INSTEAD OF THAT CREEPY VOICE, IT S UNBELIEVABLE

and the approach of judging albums based solely on the on the quality, type, amount, and success of the "Ed & Stone" songs written with each of the different drummers that were either auditioned(chamberlin)/rehearsed(chamberlin, krusen)/played for a concert (krusen, abruzzes, Irons, cameron) /was recorded on an album(Krusen, abruzzes, irons, cameron)--elicits some important insight--

ESPECIALLY for when you use it for Cameron's cds--Binaural, Riot Act, Pearl Jam, I think they are just beginning to show signs of Stone and Matt meshing so that in another album and two, the bands relationship with Ed transforms or grows (not sure which word there) so that Cameron will have absorbed some of Stone's guitar style and incroporated it into his own so it's easier for Ed to write lyrics for songs composed by Matt. And Stone will have taken Cameron's rthymns and patterns in for stock for when he's in the shop pounding out his axe with all he's got to work with looking for the best songs to provide Ed. And Ed's great, he's learned to write some great songs because of Cameron (Insignificance and Grievance) but that was occurring during Vs. with rearviewmirror and elderly woman--one displayed his riffing, the other his chordal progression and rythmns (think the about the lack thereof in Porch). He's the engine, Stone is. I'm ecunemical, I love all the Tribes, Stone's Bitches, Cameron's Stallions, Mike's Maniac's, Ed's had his fanclub a long time ago, and Jeff is fine without one, he's an ascetic.

i think this current stretch is as good of a stretch as the yield sessions.

i like these news songs, but i also think that the band consistantly puts new edges on old stuf. like corduroy was sung in 95 and 96 with real anger. now they sing it because they love the tune and melody. The real angst driven songs now are about the world and not their own person pain. so its interesting to hear the old stuff through their newer perspectives.

I've couldn't agree more that Jack's drumming on Stupid Mop is awesome!

Completely disagree though regarding All Those Yesterdays....IMO it's PJ's second best slow song after Off He Goes.
