...i consider to be some of my favorite pearl jam songs. i'd say bugs, p-r-i-v-a-c-y and red dot are among my favorites of all pearl jam songs.

discuss.

I only really like two of the filler songs--wasted reprise and bugs (I don't consider push/pull filler)--mostly because both of those relate thematically to the record they are on. The others are experiments that more often than not seriously disrupt the flow of the record.

you don't think privacy or red dot relate to their respective albums? i think they do.

and yes folks, aye davanita is sweet.

I don't think these tracks are ever filler, but more mood setting songs. Pry To is right before courdory, very relavent to the song (p-r-i-v-a-c-y it's priceless to me) bugs right after courdory, and before satans bed, and as said before, aye davinita jsut sounds good, and flows perfectly into immortality. even stupid mop is perfect for it's spot. Immortality can be considered as the album closer, and stupid mop is chaos that would be going on inside someone's head in the silence after the music stops. This album flows perfectly, and is their best if you ask me.

I think they're bad, but it's been years since I've heard either one because I don't even bother to listen anymore. I always considered them filler (or as Buggy has called these before, wankery) and don't even bother with them. Given the lack of negativity these have gotten in this and another thread maybe I'll give the wankery a shot.

We should probably come up with a list of what we consider "filler" songs. Stuff like Bugs and Aye Davanita and Pry, to aren't really filler, they're more like experiments (sometimes gone awry). When I think of "filler," I think of actual, legit album tracks that don't make the grade in some people's opinions.

I'm not objective enough to list what I think is "filler" on PJ's albums, but I asked a few, non-psycho PJ fans I know what they thought of the new album, and they identified Comatose and Life Wasted as "filler." Actually, maybe the one track I view as filler on the new album is Big Wave.

I just don't get it. It's not like they sat down while mixing vitalogy and said, well, we HAVE to have 14 songs, and there's no more to choose from, so......lets put any old shit on there. They're there for a reason. In the case of vitalogy, I feel like they fuck with your head a little, and add a lot to the atmosphere of the album.

I'm glad we could turn it around from that Killing sea lions discussion over in N&D, and the "Mets are pathetic" comment in sports. hahaha
