Not sure if this kid deserves his own thread but what the hell.

I'd never seen his show on ESPN before, but it's actually pretty good. And it kind of paints Telfair's decision to go to the NBA as a retarded one, especially considering he had basically already told Louisville he was committed there.

It also paints Telfair out to be a totally self-absorbed, egotistical asshole, which it really seems like he is. He bitched out his teammates when they didn't give him the rock in the McDonalds game because he wanted to set the game-record for assists... excuse me while I weep you a river. It gives a pretty good idea of the fact that he wasn't physically or mentally ready to play in the NBA. His brother was a lot more polished than he was and he was stuck in Europe playing ball in Greece.

Anyway, if I was Rick Pitino I probably would have hunted Telfair down and shot him long ago.

He might have been a douchebag, but the way he went about announcing his candidacy to the NBA was about as baffling as it gets. I would have been pretty pissed if I were a college coach.

He hasn't done all that much for the Blazers. Lord, do they ever have a shitty team. When Zack Randolph is the star of the team, you know it's gotten BAD.

could you be any more off base?... like Bammer said, he seems like a good kid... could you even imagine being asked for your wristbands or socks or shoes after a game from the time you were 15?...the pressure this kid has been through... he had been hyped since he got into high school... handling his senior year the way he did, well, he seems like one hell of a teenager to me... and why would Pitino want to kill him?... i highly doubt Pitino was that shocked... he's not that naive

you feel it's okay to call an 18-year old kid "a totally self-absorbed, egotistical asshole", but you are willing to give TO (a grown man, mind you) a free pass?... could you be any more of a homer?

I don't understand why the fact that I'm a homer is just hitting you now. Have you seen my avatar and signature? And anyway, I said my last bit about TO yesterday. I'm not talking about him anymore until there is something to talk about. But while we're on it, I don't ever recall giving him a free pass.

And yes, I can imagine being put up on a pedistal like that at such an early age, and it would probably make me the same way. He was a New York high school basketball legend, arguably the best to ever play at that level, and when you have that kind of success it goes to your head. But I said if I were Pitino, I would have killed him. I am obviously not a college coach, therefore it was my opinion. In retrospect it all seems shady and underhanded.

Maybe he wasn't all those things, but like I said, that's not the way the show paints him.

so, youre not allowed to have a real opinion... does Dallas pay you anything?... if you do get a paying job for reporting on the Cowboys, are you going to run all your articles by Jerry for a proofread, as not to upset him or the organization?... jeesh

Bush needs to take one out of your playbook:
"I will not talk about the war until there is something to talk about. Until it's over and we win, I will just act like it isn't happening."

youve done not so much as blink since TO was invited to Big D... that is a free pass, brother

ummm... no, you cant.... and neither can i nor anyone else (well, LeBron and Greg Oden can, i suppose)

so it's not okay to call him "a totally self-absorbed, egotistical asshole"?.... good, save that shit for TO, youre going to need it

heh, then keep with the writing and stay away from the coaching

very shady, i mean, what the hell is that kid thinking?... trying to get his family out of the ghetto and all... and to think *take a big breath with me*, the kid's dream was to make it to the NBA

my only reference is the show... so, somone is waaaaaaay off... did i miss something on the show?... did he laugh at the opportunity to play for Baylor or something?

I saw the movie...I didn't think Telfair came across all that bad. Sure he got a bit of a "big head", but almost every successful athlete has an inflated ego.

As for his decision to go pro, I'm not sure how you can question someone's decision to accept guaranteed millions - especially when they come from nothing.

i just couldnt imagine being 18, having NYC as my playground/kingdom, and being able to keep focus the way he did... im rooting for him to succeed... hell, i had a superstar friend that couldnt make it with Peoria, IL, as his playground

now, before i saw the movie, i did think he was kind of a big-headed punk, but i was pretty damn wrong about it all... one thing the movie did kind of show is how difficult it is to turn down millions when so many people are counting on you

shocking, sounds a lot like.................Marbury.

no doubt it runs in the family. He'll probably wind up on a shitty team like the Knicks too.

or rather counting on the money they can get from you when you're wealthy.

his brothers obviously deserve some of his cash for all the support they have shown... he wouldnt have made it w/o them imo... and the family seemed to support him, not crowd him

Right, because it hasn't been so played out already. I've already said everything there is to say on the topic. If you really want my opinion you can search for it and find it. Not like I would expect you to anyway since you have a real problem accepting people's opinions.

What is blinking?

I disagree with tons of stuff the Cowboys do. Go search the archives of my site if you don't believe me. And every post-game article I wrote has some kind of stinging reproach of the team. I hated their re-signing of Keith Davis and that was like a week ago.

he should go to the d league and work on improving his game. he has talent, but he's simply not good enough right now to play PG in the NBA.
