I'm pretty new here, posting anyway. What can I say? PJ has gotten me excited again after all these years. Anyway, maybe this topic has been done before? I tried searching.

So, if in one word you had to sum up Pearl Jam's lyrics, themes, etc., what would the word be?

For me, it's HOPE.

they mostly seem to be ocean, bush, and of various other depressing nature. Still more variety then cornell's sun and road songs

As compared to me in a previous thread:
The Argonaut wrote:
It's a heck of a lot better than Chris Cornell, who definitely can sing, but continually uses metaphors involving suns and roads in the same way over and over. His Audioslave lyrics, to me, seem pretty tired. I'm still loving Ed's.

I guess great minds think alike.
