lyrics from tsis
so all you fools
who sing just like him
feel free to do so now
cuz he's dead
using, using, using
the using takes toll
isolation
just so happy to be one
sad to, sad to think
sad to think of him more
lonesome friend, we all knew
always hoped you'd pull through
no blame, no blame
no blame, it could be you
using, you can't grow old using
so sing just like him, fuckers
it won't offend him
just me
because he's dead

I wish it wasn't a hidden track. it deserves to stand alone...bee girl is cute and all but it does exactly provide the song with a proper intro. I love the it though and will listen to it today.

let's not make this thread a bee girl discussion, k?
i LOVE the music to this tune but i don't think the lyrics are all that good.

4 years ago? Wow...
I remember being affected by Layne's death for about 2 years. The way he died, reading about the squalor and the filth he died in. Just could'nt deal with it, it pretty much haunted me for two years...

Agreed. I appreciate Ed's sentiment here, but lyrically speaking, it's weak. Exactly who ever tried to mimic Layne Staley's vocal delivery? I never understood that part...

I reckon the guy from Days of the New is a sure starter... maybe Ed thinks that Scott Stapp and co are following Layne's footsteps rather than his own?

I think the atmosphere of the song is perfect. I really get the lonely, saddened man playing his guitar in a dark, barely candle lit room...or something.
I like the guitar sound and the odd tuning...I just don't think the lyrics do the job they were set out to do.

I wouldn't go that far.

I agree with you to an extent... it's just not the type of song I could listen to regularly.

all of you should give a listen to this today
It definitely feels like a demo, but then again, it is. It's raw, but in a really sad and subdued kind of way. It's such a tragedy. AIC never really peaked and the world lost a lot of great music.
I think some of the lyrics in the TSIS archive may be wrong. I think the lyrics are pretty good as is.

Its hard to believe its been 4 years for Layne. His death really bothered me. He was probably my favorite vocalist Next to Eddie and Cornell. It was just hard to accept that I would never hear his voice again on a new album or live.
Just to lighten this up a bit though, isn't it weird that both Layne and Kurt, two of the biggest junkies in music history died on 420.

I don't think he died on 4/20. I think he was found on 4/20, or eddie found out then. Is that right?
