what is it about this guy?

Michael Beasley (#2 '07 prospect overall) had verbally committed to attend UNC-Charlotte, but heading over to Scout.com today, i see that he is now non-committed and considering Kansas State as opposed to UNC-C... OJ Mayo (#1 overall) now has KState listed as his top choice!... Herb Pope (#9) has KState at the top also... 3 of the top 10 prospects of '07 are looking to head to KState, and they are all very serious about it due to Huggins... and it's not just these 3 guys, there are a lot of otehrs now considering KSU because of ole Bobby... i dont even think he's that great of a coach... his teams always seem like they are filled with some of the most talented, underacheiving kids in the country... and it usually seems like Huggins has drained them emotionally by season end.... what is it about this guy i dont see?.... craziness, i tell ya

yeah, i'm a little concerned about huggins at kstate, what with his recruiting prowess and kstates ability to get academic risks into school. it will certainly make the big 12 a more interesting conference.

As far as Mayo and Bill Walker go, I believe they've been tight with Huggins since he was coach at Cincinnati and they attend school in the Cincy area. It's always been speculated that they would follow him to wherever he ended up as coach.

I really cannot stand Huggins. I think he is scum. He uses his players and really does not give a shit what they go on to do in life, which really bothers me. And his DUI tape speaks for itself.

Huggins was really really interested in coming to Marshall, but our AD is a complete moron and decided to keep a guy who has won about 20 games in three years. It's a shame because Mayo and Walker would have most certainly come here since they are both from Huntington. Huntington High also has a top 50 player, Patrick Patterson, who I'm sure would have come too, but he obviously won't be staying home.

If you say so, but I've heard plenty of WVU fans that said the same thing and were serious.

Take it from somebody that has followed Cincinnati basketball since our Final Four run back in 1992. Huggins can coach defense, but his teams look completely lost on offense. If they don't have somebody get hot from behind the 3-point arc they just stand around on offense. Huggins' teams usually beat all the teams they are more talented than, but when they play good teams (usually beginning in the second round of the NCAA tournament), they get outplayed and outcoached.

To be honest, I am glad Huggins is out at Cincinnati, hopefully the new guy can recruit talent (without so many thugs) like Huggins and coach better.

Carolina has the best argument... i understand i'm a homer in this respect, but name one program that stays more connected post-graduation (yes, most kids do actually graduate from Carolina)?... i highly doubt you can... they dont call it the Carolina Family for nothin

I don't know how you quantify that...but all the old Georgetown guys are known for going back to DC every summer to scrimmage and work out with each other and the young guys currently on the team. Obviously they don't have as many high profile guys as NC, but there certainly is a similar "family" atmosphere.

and because I wasn't sure how you measure how one program stays more connected than another, I mentioned one I'm aware of that is also known for having lots of guys stay connected. What part of this was difficult for you to grasp?
