I found this while browsing on Synergy, and I figured I'd post it here... I did a search for it but didn't find it, so I'm hoping it's not a double post.

The Newsweek review is really nice, but I guess the real item of interest is the WWS video. It's studio footage of the band, a la the 8 minute promo we've all seen. But it also has this dude doing crazy shit with a little globe. Enjoy :)

thanks. :) how long until some complains about the grunge tag?

The video is still loading but it was a pretty strong article from a mag like newsweek. Who would have thought they'd profile PJ again.

And now it's the best since Vitalogy. Vs. coming soon.

Video's not working for me. Anyone else having problems? I tried both FF and IE6.

Video is taking a while to work for me.

"Some of the best moments come when Vedder gives us an image rather than an idea."

Well written.

This album needed more of this IMO.

It is the best since vitalogy. It'll stop there because it isn't better than Vitalogy. But I'll take best album in 12 years and be pretty fucking happy

does anyone else dislike the way this song sounds live? especially the chorus?

i hate to be pessimistic but I think that performance would turn a casual fan way off to their new music.

I know this live version will grow on me if i listen to it a few more times. But I really think the initial reaction for a music fan that maybe wants to experiment with pearl jam again or something, will be a very dissapointed one. it sounds like ed barely has enough breath to sing the song. :?

I haven't heard it yet, but WWS continues to not impress me live as much as it should.

Yes, the chorus live needs some work. That's why there is more than one show on the tour. Hopefully Ed will work out the vocals, b/c my concern this tour is his vocals...

the concept of the guy doing what he's doing with a ball in relation to the song is brilliant

I'll say this much. The first time I watched the video, I tried to play it quietly through my computer speakers. Big mistake. It sounds much better through headphones. That being said, these definitely aren't Ed's best vocals... I know some dude called me "Simon" last time I said this, but I hope he works on focusing his pitch in the chorus. I'm sure he'll get better as the tour progresses, but it's almost a shame that it wasn't quite there for these video clips.

Still, there's no question that the video rocks out :)

:D

Ed's vocals are a concern, however.

With all due respect, I'd like to be the judge of that.

Anyone have any idea WHY it's not working?
