I have a different argument against the Bush Administration. Of course the threat of terrorism abroad is a serious issue and should be addressed. But the underlying issue resides INSIDE our country. I feel the administration or our gov't in general hasn't voiced the concern over extremist radical groups in America. There is always a possibility that they feel our law enforcement agencies are doing a good job. They are doing a terrific job. For an example they have uncovered 60 right wing extremist terrorist plots since 1995. But after 9/11, it seems right wing radical groups have been growing across the country. Not only does it have to do with anger with the arab world, but also the immigration problem. I feel the issue should be voiced.

Culture wars are a huge problem also. Immigration is indeed a problem. "Black vs Brown" wars are breaking out in California. Latino gangs and black gangs are a huge threat to the community. To top it off, you got the white power groups who despise both of them. I feel sympathetic towards the Administration when it comes to border control. I personally don't know what to do about it. We close the borders and there will be a big stir among the Latino community. We don't close the borders, then a bigger culture war will manifest. And when the gov't gets involved in this culture war, that's when our gov't is vulnerable to a terrorist attack.

You've got some really good points.

I think a big reason that the extremist groups in America go unchallenged by the Administration is because the worst of them are white and acting under the guise of Christianity.
And PETA. But everyone should be afraid of PETA.

I was on the illegal immigrants' side at first, until I got a rather eye opening email. Not that I usually let forwards change my mind on anything - but it's not a HUGE problem here in Philadelphia. The email, although not in the nicest terms, pointed out what a drain they are to our society. Basically, what would happen if I entered Mexico *illegally* and began demanding free health care, a driver's license, that my children's schools offer all english speaking courses so that they didn't have to learn spanish. . . etc etc etc. Clearly it wouldn't happen.
I don't think people should be denied entry into this country, so long as they go through the proper channels and do it legally.

As far as brown vs Black - I doubt that has much to do with the current immigrations issues. It's been that way around here for years. Down where my boyfriend works, the neighborhoods are literally racially by street. You learn quickly which street you're on, where it's safest to go (relativly speaking), and which demographic is most likely to do what.
(etc - the black people have an odd habit of asking anyone that they pass on the street for money. Not poor people, but if you're there, they'll ask you for $5 like you're their buddy or something. The hispanics are most likely to steal anything not nailed down -- sometimes stuff that IS nailed down -- and once even stole a box of nails while the crew ran into the 7-11. For serious.)

I think a lot of these issues come about because of the entitlement culture the government has created in this country. It's damn easy to get things dirt cheap or flat out free in this city, if you live in the right place, and are the right color. It's shitty to say, but it's true. With the way the school systems are run, and how small the city really is all around, the people living on welfare stealing my boyfriend's tools (that he uses to fix up their next to free houses at no cost to them) - they were offered the same education that I was. Same schools. Same opportunities - sometimes, even better so, as it was easy to get scholarships as a minority than a white person in my HS.
People who get a lot handed to them, and never have to earn anything respect NOTHING. They have no respect to take care of what they DO have. They'll spend $250 on one pair of sneakers, but then come crying to WIC about not being able to feed their kids. That needs to stop more than anything. But I don't know how it even could at this point.

He should walk around with something long and stabby at the ready. That might keep the hoods away.

They got dust on the guy's van. My boyfriend's friend cleaned it off (no harm done) and then my boyfriend apologised. They had put up signs and NAILED DOWN traffic cones, but they were stolen over the weekend. and GAVE THE GUY $20 to get his van washed.
They still came back and shot at them. :x

They're working construction outside, they've got plenty of long and stabbies.
