You've almost got a full "road trip disc" there. I bet I missed one or two.

So, do we think Eddie is unhappy with his station in life and he wants to move away from it?

i think he writes on this topic a lot because he knows a lot of his listeners feel this way, and a lot of them would like to "drift away" from they're lives and do what they want but they cant, and listening to songs about this topic make them feel better about their life or situation, personally, the majority of the songs you just listed are the ones that make me feel the strong connection to the band that i dont have with any other band... sleight of hand is another amazing song that could go on that list

You forgot "Open Road", though that's an unreleased song/improv. Good list though!

Oh, I agree. I like Untitled a little better then MFC. I hope to hear Untitled this tour. Love how its always changing. I like listening to it on the boots to see who minute Ed will use.

I could be there in 23 minutes or so....

From the very begining Pearl Jam's music has been about finding a place for yourself in a hostile/confusing world. Travelling imagery works really well for that. Even other songs like breath or leash share that theme, even if they don't use the actual langage

Yeah, I think present tense fits that mould as well. These songs are all about being what you want to be and not what what you 'have' to be, ie being true to yourself and not letting things (whatever they mabye) get in your way.

I think Severed Hand is about traveling by taking LSD.
