Okay I only have three Wilco Cd's (YHF, AGIB, Summerteeh)
I want to make a mix for a friend and this is what i have so far....
muzzel of bees
kamera
company in my back
jesus etc
war on war
hummingbird
how to fight lonliness
handshake drugs
wishful thinking
theologians
at least thats what you said
I am trying to break your heard
Now as you can see i only have 1 song from summerteeth. I just got that album and i'm still working my way through it trying to find what i think are the stand out songs.
Any suggestions of other songs you think i should definalty have on there? I like spiders but it does not come out as well on the cd as it does in concert. So i don't plan on putting it on there.

Thank you all for your help thusfar I really appreciate it.
I unfortunatly do not have Being There. It is on the list to get, but I just bought summerteeth last week so i will wait till i get comfortable with that before picking up another.
If I was building this mix I'm The Man That Loves You would be the first song included. No one talks about that song but I think it's one of the four best tunes from YHF.

to reiterate what some people have mentioned any wilco mix needs a healty dose of being there (at the expense of a ghost is born tracks to make it even better). also poor places must be on there period.

By the way, for those with time on their hands, I suggest finding the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot demos and including them on any Wilco mix you make. "Venus Stop The Train" will make any Wilco mix (possibly one the best Wilco songs ever). It's a shame it was left off the actual album.

as well as poor places and pot kettle black.
both missing
Poor places and pot kettle black, along with jesus etc, ashes of american flags, adn well the rest of the album are my favorites off of YHF.
But in my opinion, I could never make a Wilco mix by taking tracks off of Yankee Hotle Foxtrot. I just couldnt do it. For me, that album gives clear pictures, yet at the same time is sweeping and moody. It gives me the feeling of New York in the winter, yet the town is deserted, and Im listenting to an old radio broadcast on the floor in a highrise apartment, with yellow carpeting and snow outside. Then at the same time it sweeps me away. I don't think it should be broken up.
