All day we've been updating a live 'documentary' from the streets of Manhattan, outside Tower Records. The line started forming Sunday afternoon and now stretches around two city blocks.

During the final three hours (the doors open at midnight), we'll be posting quite a bit more... right up until the album release and the tickets to the secret show in NYC are awarded.

This is for Pearl Jam fans everywhere! Especially those currently sitting at 4th and Broadway.

For those wondering... yes, there are scalpers out in full force, weaving in and out of the huge line in front of Tower Records. Some of the scalpers have been even waiting in line... for a long time.

Clive Davis, yes THAT Clive Davis, just handed out Krispy Kreme donuts to the Pearl Jam fans camped out at Tower Records. The midnight sale starts in 4 MINUTES!

Life without emoticons?

:waah:

... delicious irony.

We used, well, words.

BTW, the whole idea that this is a secret show is stupid, considering there's so many people who know about it. Once the internet kicked in, nothing's really a secret anymore.

when you think about it. clive spends couple hundred on some donuts, and these people on-line pay like $10 or whatever for the cd. they are basically buying their own donuts.

Well, yeah. It's business. But the value of donuts + meeting Clive Davis + meeting a ton of PJ fans + getting a first copy of the album + the secret show on Friday.... well I'd say those folks who camped out made out pretty well.

And just to prove the tickets are in fact real:

Check out the bottom.

thats pretty damn impressive to have the CEO of your record label show up to mingle with your fans.

i imagine he got a phone call sometime tonight that "Hundreds of people are lining up to buy his latest clients cd"

him showing up shows that hes truly excited about having PJ.

money and sales come first, but that man has to be truly impressed at what he saw. VERY few major acts have fans lining up to buy records at midnight. and even tho concert tickets were the huge reason for this one, there's PJ midnight release parties going on all over the country right now. very rare.
