Anybody here from Canada ordered the new album via the Ten Club?
I just thought it would be interesting if people post here once it comes by in the mail...
Well, if it's like the Christmas single and I believe it will be since it is shipped from Seattle, we will all be disappointed I guess (comes 2 or 3 weeks after the first arrivals).
I guess the only redeeming factor for those still waiting for the CD is that it comes in a better package than the store bought ones. The 10c CD packaging is like Vitalogy ("book"-style). If I had known I woulda gotten 10c

I pre-ordered mine at HMV and they gave me a code to download the Toronto 05 show for free. Also they ran a coupon in the Toronto Star to buy the album today only, for $9.99
So for 10 bucks I'm getting the album, and a free boot
God Bless PJ

That's awesome. First billing over Tool.
Will they be 9.99 tomorrow? I can't get down there today and I don't feel like waiting for my 10C pre-order.

I think it's a one day only deal. The Tool art is kickass.

The 3-d glasses that are built into the Tool artwork are kinda fucked.
I really wish I was a 10c member ... I want the different packaging.

I didn't order from 10c because I knew it would take forever to get here. Just picked it up at HMV downtown Montreal today. Listenin' now
That Montreal store is probably my favorite HMV.
Never been - could it possibly be better than the Yonge St store in Toronto?

Hands down. I can't stand the one on Yonge St, there is just something about it I don't like. Nothing could beat the Sam's on Yonge during it's heyday though.
bought them both at futureshop in dartmouth.
they got tons of copies there. all 9.99 (cdn) each
sweet
record copanies bitch, bitch, bitch about low cd sales. fuck, if they keep selling the cds that cheap at $9.99 a pop (single cd), everybody is gonna buy them ... and at big numbers.
not many are gonna buy the album 2 months down the road while selling the cd at 21.99. keep it low, and demand will rise.. or some shit. i don't know, gotta get back to spinning some discs. wonderful day everybody .. wonderful day.

You speaka da truth
Tool and PJ for 9.99 apiece...essentially 2 albums for what some places are selling one copy. Insane.

Ahh, Sam's. Memories.
Well, folks, there it is: yet ANOTHER thing that's better in Montreal than in Toronto!

Agreed. 21 degrees here - I think I'll go hit the road with the windows down and listen to the new Tool before going at Pearl Jam again.

I think the reason stores like Futureshop and Best Buy have new releases at such low prices during the first day or week is because:
A. They buy them in MASS quantities, probably as much or more than most national retailers...and therefore probably get a good price from the distributor.
B. Those are what's called "door crashing" prices. Meaning that the store may actually be taking a loss by selling them at that price, but they are trying to get you in there and hopefully buying something else as well to offset the loss. Grocery stores do this alot. If they sell something at half price they actually lose money on it, but they've got you in the store and buying all your groceries instead of the supermarket across the street, so they've suceeded in that.
But i agree, if retailers could keep the price of most CD's under $15, i can guarantee they would see increased sales. There is nothing that pisses me off more than finding a CD i wan't for $26.99 or higher. 99% of the time i will put it back on the shelf and buy it for half the price from amazon.
Picked up both the Pearl Jam and the Tool cds this morning at Future Shop here in Calgary for $9.99 each. I saw a cupon in the paper yesterday for HMV for the same price but you needed to have the cupon, plus HMV's harder for me to get to.

Apparently Music World has them both for the same price as well (according to my buddy).
