If there's already a thread about this, I couldn't find it.
So anyway--
This movie is incredible. At times you forget you are watching a Woody Allen movie. At other times, it's classic Woody Allen. The plot, the dialogue, the costumes, the cinematography, everything is just amazing.
Especially Scarlett Jo in a couple downright sexy scenes.
I love Woody Allen, and I place this among his best films.

It was like the best of all worlds for me; Scarlett, Tennis Movie, and Woody Movie. However the tennis sucked, but you cant expect much.

Pretty great film, not typical Woody Allen humor. This is much darker, fatalistic and the characters don't really have any redemptive qualities. I actually rented this from netflix expecting it to be a comedy, and instead what I got was a film about deception and trechery. I can't really complain though, Scarlett Johanssen and Emily Mortimer are both gorgeous and Jonathon Rhys-Meyers gave a terrific performance. Definitely better than most movies I saw recently. Woody Allen is an amazingly consistent director, I think I'll add some more of his films to my queue.

I thought it was only a decent film until *that* happened (you know what, but I won't spoil it), and the whole was greatly improved because of it. Clever.

i went into this movie not knowing what to expect and it turned out quite well. i was really surprised since this was one of the few allen movies that i've seen. the story was great and i love the twists and turns towards the end.
this movie was awesome. although i hate watching 'cheating' movies with my girlfriend because then she always gets nervous that 'all guys cheat' on their girlfriends.
Great little film. A nice take on the "downward spiral" tale. Rhys-Meyers wonderfully plays the absolute douche, and Woody Allen really lets this thing slow cook to perfection.

Your girlfriend should visit Carbondale, Illinois

this is exactly how i felt. although i watched it with absolutely no idea about what it was going to be about. i thought it was just going to be a weird love triangle kinda story at first and i was just kinda like, "meh." the first 30 minutes are actually pretty lame. but after i see what everything builds up to it made me appreciated the whole film and the way it developed. i thought it was outstanding.
(sorry i know this thread has been long dead, but i just recommended this movie to a friend so i thought i'd look it up and give my two cents.)
