I watched this the other day, and I have to say I think it is a very good film.

The scenes between Captain Nemo and The Professor were actually very well written, and the hints of insanity and violent urges in the entire crew of the Nautilus were very interesting, this is by no means your typical Disney movie.

The only downfall was the cheesy scenes with Kirk Douglas, which were overracted to the point of being ridiculous, and of course the effects were quite dated.

I would love to see a remake of this with darker tones, possibly by Tim Burton or Steven Spielberg.

Giant squid attack = best scene ever!

I would also like to see a more dark, realistic (as realistic as is possible for a fantasy story) version. Tim Burton would make an interesting version.
