LA LA LA LA, EH!
LA LA LA LA, EH!
Remember this Spurs fans - a week on Wednesday we will probably lose the European Cup Final. Even if we do, next season we'll be in the Champions League, you won't. Think about the implications that has on how our standings compare in the transfer market. You played the lowest amount of games a Premiership team can. We reached 2 semis, one of the 4 games was just after we drew at home to you. We rested players during that game and plenty of others because of games you can only dream of being involved in. And we STILL pipped you to 4th! And it's no more down to food poisening than you grabbing 4th would have been down to the FA Cup final. This was your best chance to close the gap on us. You blew it. And even if Henry goes, with us moving into the new stadium the gap between us can only get bigger, regardless of what happens in St Denis.

I agree with a lot of this. Over the course of a season, the table does not lie.
But mate, I think you're being much too pessimistic about the Champions League Final and Henry re-signing. We've probably got a pretty decent chance winning both.
This is an exciting young team, probably 2 quality signings away from having a serious tilt at the Premiership next season.
Incidentally, did anyone inform Jol that an away fixture at Upton Park does not require an overnight stay at a hotel?

If we keep Tel and win this game and West Ham win next season could be very interesting:
Arsenal: in new stadium
United: falling apart
Liverpool: honeymoon over
Spurs: falling away
Chelsea: not as convincing as last season

Henry won't join Spurs esp with no CL, and I doubt Wenger will leave - maybe having managed at AG for at least a season but not this summer. I don't expect us to lose the CL final, but to be honest even if we do we have alot of work to do if we're to break into the top 3 again. As for the Norf American posters best to compete I say

I actually think there's a really decent chance Mourinho won't be at Chelsea next season. His attitude following the win against Utd was nothing short of petulant and disgraceful. Complaining about the lack of "Manager of the Month awars. Gimme a break you prick. You just won the most coveted prize in English football and you're complaining about manager of the fucking month?
Liverpool - I really like Benitez to be honest with you. I think he's in the process of building a very good team around what is arguably the best central midfield partnership in Europe. He's had some terrible luck with injuries and form with his strikers -- but he seems to know what he's doing and he has that Wenger aura to him.
United - To me their big worry is Ferguson, and when he'll finally call it quits. The V. Nistelrooy saga is yet another in a long line of ego chipping (Stam, Becks, Yorke, Keane) and I wonder if he can keep doing this.
The thing is this: they're fucking loaded. Within an instant, they can appoint a Capello or Erikkson, or O'Neill and hand him a 40m transfer kitty to revamp their first team.
For the foreseeable future, United are always going to be up there. Crisis for them is a relative word.
Tottenham - If they can hang onto most of their players, they'll be alright. Like it or not, Jol is doing a really good job there, and they'll be a top 6 club for at least the next few years. Whether or not they can step it up to break into the top 3 remains to be seen.

HAHAHAHAHA! I like it. As for AG the Emirates Stadium is just the official name. Did you know that Highbury's official name is Arsenal Stadium?
I reckon in all likelihood, next season's top 3 will be this season's, we'll finish 4th and Spurs 5th.

West Stand Upper I suppose as most of the games I went to were reserve or youth. Tried getting a ticket for the Wigan game but predictably no luck.

Better luck next season, mate -- with 60,000, surely it's gotta get easier.
I made a final pilgrimage to Highbury in December. My cousin got tickets off a scalper in the North Bank. Face value was 35 quid each. I imagine he paid closer to 70 or 80.

I had to make it back in the final season and went Wigan home in the league cup. Needless to say I went to the Charlton game to make that my last game instead! Can't wait to go AG :cloud9:

But is the future so bright at L'Arse??
Henry, your one man team, is off. Not that I blame him, I mean who would you rather play with?? Pascal Cygan or Ronaldinho?? Remember how crap you were while Henry was injured?? Now extend that for the rest of the season...
No Henry, that means a half empty Cashburden Grove. In short, long-term if Henry leaves you're fucked. Have fun with Van Persie & Adebayor up front...
On the otherhand Tottenham, we have the youngest team in the Premiership all of which are on long term contracts. So yeah we missed out, but we're only gonna get better...
